Antangin Tour de Ambarrukmo 2025: Cyclist Warriors Pedaling the Spirit of Independence, Exploring the Beauty of Yogyakarta
In celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Ambarrukmo Group is proud to once again present the sport tourism event Antangin Tour de Ambarrukmo (TDA) 2025, which explores the beauty of Yogyakarta through cycling. The event will take place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, with 1,200 cyclists participating from various regions in Indonesia, including international participants from Australia and Singapore. Through this event, Ambarrukmo Group reaffirms its commitment to supporting and promoting Yogyakarta as a premier tourist destination in Indonesia.
First held in 2017, this event is now in its seventh year and continues to offer two route categories that provide participants with a unique cycling experience across Yogyakarta’s iconic landscapes. Cyclists will pass through Yogyakarta’s urban areas, the rural scenery of Kulonprogo, the natural beauty of the southern coastal mountains in Bantul, and the heritage site of Prambanan Temple in Sleman. The journey will take approximately 6 to 7 hours to complete.
One of the most popular categories is the Regular Route, spanning 138 kilometers with an elevation gain of 500 meters. This route will be divided into two peloton groups, each consisting of 450 cyclists. Throughout the route, participants will be fully supported and escorted by a professional team including Voorijder, Race Director, Marshals, Medical Team, and Mechanics to ensure safety and comfort. Meanwhile, the Race Route is designed for cyclists competing for the titles of King of Mountain (KOM) and Queen of Mountain (QOM). This more challenging 155-kilometer route features an elevation gain of 1,000 meters and includes additional hilly sections, such as the legendary climb “PANGGANG.” The competitive race segment stretches 13 kilometers, from Parangtritis Terminal to Widoro Mosque (Rumah Zakat).
The Antangin Tour de Ambarrukmo 2025 will start at 05:45 AM (WIB) from the outdoor area of Plaza Ambarrukmo, under the rallying spirit of “Pejuang Pantang Tumbang” (Warriors Who Never Give Up), covering a total distance of 138–155 KM with four checkpoints:
- Checkpoint 1: Tirtorahayu Village
- Checkpoint 2: Parangtritis Geomaritime Science Park (Regular Route) and Parangtritis Terminal (Race Route)
- Checkpoint 3: Prambanan Temple (Regular Route)
- Checkpoint 4: KOM-QOM Point at Omah Kupu Kopi Panggang (Race Route)
Participants will collect their Race Pack at the Race Village, Main Atrium Plaza Ambarrukmo on July 31 – August 1, 2025. The race pack includes an exclusive TDA jersey, bib number, manual book, and various sponsor products. This year’s Race Village will also feature a sport exhibition and a food and beverage bazaar from supporting sponsors. Bicycle assembly by professional mechanics will also be provided at the Pendopo Ambarrukmo during race pack collection.
Antangin Tour de Ambarrukmo 2025 is not just a sport tourism event for cycling enthusiasts, but also a public celebration. This year, the After Race Fun Session returns on August 2–3, 2025 at the Main Atrium, Ground Floor of Plaza Ambarrukmo. It will feature exciting activities such as Bouncing Fun, a Choir Competition, Kids Coloring Competition, and Special Music Performances to cap off the festivities.
The spirit of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia embodies the nationalistic enthusiasm of Antangin Tour de Ambarrukmo 2025 and is reflected in the involvement of this year’s brand sponsors. Indonesian national brands such as Antangin return as the title sponsor, Polygon as the official bike, Smartfren as the official provider, and other brands including Isoplus, Aquviva, EJ Sport Nutrition, Kimia Farma, Bakpiaku, and Honda Anugerah. International brands such as CIMB Niaga (Official Bank) and Shimano (Official Bike Equipment) also lend their support.
